Common Questions

Before you book.

How much does a mobile notary cost in Orange County?

California law caps notarial fees at $15 per signature. Travel fees are unregulated and set by each notary. Pacific Signatures charges a flat travel fee based on distance from Stanton: $25 (0–5 mi), $45 (5–15 mi), $75 (15–25 mi), or $125 (25–35 mi), plus $15 per notarized signature. Or meet Angie at our Starbucks location in Cypress with no travel fee. Loan signings and apostille services are flat-rated.

What ID do I need?

California accepts a current driver's license, U.S. passport, state ID card, military ID, or foreign passport with a USCIS stamp. The ID must be current or issued within the last five years. If you don't have one, we can use credible witnesses — ask us how.

Should I sign the document before you arrive?

No — please wait. Some notarial acts (jurats) require the signature to be made in our presence. The safest choice is always to leave the document unsigned until the appointment.

Can you come to a hospital or assisted living facility?

Yes, regularly. We work with patients and families across OC hospitals, hospice, skilled nursing, and assisted living facilities. Please confirm with staff that the signer is alert and able to clearly communicate willingness to sign before booking.

Do you offer same-day or after-hours appointments?

Yes — both. Same-day and evening/weekend appointments are available subject to schedule. After 7pm and weekends carry a $35 surcharge; rush appointments (under 2 hours' notice) add $50.

Can you notarize a document that's already signed?

For acknowledgments, yes — you can sign in advance and acknowledge the signature in front of us. For jurats, no — you must sign in our presence under oath. When in doubt, leave it unsigned.
